Yesterday, upon making what was supposed to be typical drills along routine scout-tracking routes, out of nowhere, seemingly a wormhole managed to not only manifest and materialize, but it also managed to completely envelope my ship. By the traditional theories, it should have completely disintegrated my ship as well as myself, I think, however, instead it somehow popped me out in some portion of the universe that I'm completely unfamiliar with, yet somehow, my ship has managed to grab limited data of the solar-system we're in, it's suggesting there's a chance that I may be all the way across the universe. Apparently this system is named: "Nessumburgendaw IV"... can't say I've heard of it, yeah, there's a surprise. The planet I'm on appears to be very lush; the grass is neon-green, while the landscape seems to share colors of orange and purple along with colors in between on that spectrum.
Now, the bad news, upon being ejected from the wormhole, I had no control of my ship whatsoever as it spiraled out of control, through the atmosphere of this planet, that the ship's computer wasn't able to get a name for, and crash-landed on the surface. There was decent damage done in the impact, but all of it was repairable. First order of business was to go scouting for supplies and resources to fix up the ship as well as keep my life-support topped up.
After an arduous amount of time and effort, along with procuring what was needed for repairs, I managed to repair the ship and get it operational again. Even though it was operational, it should be noted, that was in mechanics ONLY... all systems were completely on the fritz. It wasn't until just a bit earlier today, (StarDate 20168013) that I was able to get the systems back online, and thus why I'm finally making a commander's log.
On this planet there seems to be a plentiful amount of flora and fauna, and the planet itself is huge. After repairing the ship yesterday, I ventured out in multiple directions, in a clockwise cross-formation trying to get a bearing for where about on the planet I may be, and what's surrounding locally. From my impressions, I've barely made a dent in the charting of the planet. Even though I could take off into space and head towards any random planet, I felt it prudent to keep scouring around, stockpiling on any resources possible, while trying to map out the locale; as blind and random travel would not only burn up resources, it wouldn't really help to get me home.
Considering the scouting outcomes, I'm glad I chose to scout around. There's a moderate amount of wild-life on this planet, and not all of it friendly, but nothing I can't handle... there's also some sort of robotic droids that keep hovering around and scanning everything. The droids have gotten into a few fire-fights with me and lost each time... for some reason they seem to be a tad reactionary when I mine too many minerals and resources.
I picked up on a signal-beacon for another crashed ship... bad news is, the pilot would definitely need a closed-casket for a funeral; while the good news is, their ship not only had more storage-capacity than mine, it had a handful of other bells and whistles. So upon slumping the pilot into my ship, as well as cleaning off the seat cause it was a tad sticky, and swapping the goods from my ship over, I'm now the proud owner of some vessel known as: "Hokuchiki S72". If I get the chance, I'm hoping to paint over the name and officially rename it... all due respect to the former pilot, one Ace: John Doe, erm, anywho.
I also managed to become lucky enough to upgrade my multi-tool a couple of times, along with the ability to mod it up fairly well. I'm also a quick-learner and trying to learn the local Vy'Keen dialect... I've managed to master a whole of 10-15 words so far. I still can't understand what they're saying whatsoever, but at least now when I make greetings, at least they're not automatically pointing me to the bathroom. I've also been finding lots of new discoveries, several oddities, nothing like back home... though, I'm sure here, I'd be the oddity. Anyways I've managed to scan several plants and animals along with learning their local designations... even if some are kind of tongue-twisters.
I still have no idea what the name of this planet is, so in the meantime, I've decided to loosely name it after my two cats back home. Perhaps once I have a better grip of the language I can update the log with the official name, but since I'm nicknaming it, and it feels rather unofficial, might be best to keep the planet's nickname to myself for the time being.
That's officially all for now; will update again when there's some more note-worthy progress... for now though, especially to conserve system-power, Commander Thundermonkey, signing off.
