Commander's Log - StarDate 20160816

Finally got these new systems back up.  I had found yet another "abandoned" ship, a hulk of a ship; still not as nice as some of the high-end ones I've seen at the Space Station in this quadrant, but still beast and had several upgrades pre-installed.  Only problem was having to repair each and every system one by one.

After repairing the ship and getting it operational, I jumped to the next galaxy over.  Computer tells me the name of it is... well, let's just say I'd better be able to pronounce it only if I slammed my face as hard as humanly possible into the console a few times, and the first sounds I'd mutter out would pretty much nail it.  Anyways, this galaxy seems to be home of the Gek.  Interesting race... with their beak noses/faces, can't put my finger on whether they're a decent of birds, gecko, or turtles.  Either way, pleasant bunch, and yet another language to learn.

I'm still at work on the Vy'Keen language, up to 80 words, give or take; though in the meantime I've managed to learn a dozen or two words of the Gek.  I'm also finding this race to be a much more set of shrewd negotiators than the Vy'Keen ever were.  If I'm not careful I'm going to trade for a dimensional-matrix and come to find the only thing I'm left holding besides the dimensional-matrix is the barrel that's taken the place of my clothing.

I had discovered and visited each of the six planets in the Gek's sector, some more than others, but have also managed to wrangle up the materials to beef up my exosuit, my ship, and even my beast-rig of a multi-tool.

I ended up jumping to the next galaxy, which belongs to the Korvax race.  I'm not certain, but I'm fairly certain that their equivalent to our brain, is a microchip and a heat-sync.  This sector has five planets and a moon.  Been to and discovered each; a couple of them are great for blowing off some steam, as the sentinels on them seem to be haywire or malfunctioning perhaps, as they seem hostile and like to shoot on site?  My favorite kind of sentinels, in fact, the kinds best used for target-practice!

For the time being I'm hunkering down somewhat for a tiny bit, hovering planets in this sector, seeing what I can find, while hoping to find the ship to beat all mother-ships, but one can hope.  Have found a bunch of drop pods though, my exosuit is slowly becoming its own beast-armor.

Well, that's about it, Captain Thundermonkey signing off to plunge headfirst back into the stars and the black abyss beyond!
